Can solar run my existing tube-well pump?
In most cases, yes. A solar pump drive runs standard submersible and surface pump motors; we size the array from the pump's rating, the well depth and the water you need each day.
What happens on a cloudy day?
Output drops and the pump runs slower, then picks up as the sky clears. Across the Punjab irrigation season clear days far outnumber cloudy ones, which is exactly why solar pumping works here.
Do I need batteries for irrigation?
Usually not. Pumping while the sun is up and storing water in a tank or pond is far cheaper than storing electricity in a battery, and there is nothing to replace in five years.
